Chanchal Bharti is one of the eminent Qawwali Sufi Singer who has performed in India as well as in abroad. Born and brought up in the ancient city of Banaras a place rich in culture and traditions. She started her shashtriyasangeet training under Late PanditShyamLal Mishra who belongs Qawwali Banaras Gharana. Chanchal Bharti inspite of being a talented singer was discouraged to perform in the male dominated society.
Later she mastered the art of Qawwali Sufism under the guidance of Iqbal Afzal Sabri brother. Passionate about singing, she continued performing even after her marriage. What emboldened her to become a woman qawwal was the mysticism that enveloped the tradition of Qawwali singing . In past four decades she has received overwhelming responses by her audiences worldwide. The concert of Chanchal Bharti are performed in a traditional style with a Group of instrumentalists and chorus artists.
